SEASON GREETINGS

The Christmas season is upon us, and for us here in NZ we are lucky enough that we can celebrate with our family's. So with all that has happened over the past year, it's time for New Years resolutions and planning your next adventure. So we are here to tempt you! Maybe not for 2021 but for 2022. Although in saying that, we are going back to the Alps this coming year to conduct a Alps Tour towards the end of July.

Not long now until we can sweep 2020 under the mat and "Flip it the bird / give it the old fingers" for good measure!
Here in NZ we didn't get the full Covid blast like many other parts of the world so freedom wise we have been very close to normal. However! we couldn't get to our favourite play grounds on the many roads of Europe and are still hopeful that our July 2021 Euro Alps tour is a go, we have a bunch of Americans that couldn't go this year and are keen as mustard to make it up next year, so we will see if things pan out and if the world doesn't get any more crazy, we all could be slurping down on Italian Cappuccino's in the wonderful Dolomites again! We have some Kiwi's on this tour as well so if anyone is keen give us a Yell.

We have both been riding lots the last couple months on our Harley's and just got back home last week from riding my BMW, watching the Mike Pero Classic MC racing in Timaru which was an amazing 3 day event, we had never been able to make it in the past years but we will be back again next year for certain, this is one of the most high value low cost racing event we have ever seen ($20.00) for 3 days racing, 250 machines and up to 500 racers and crew, boy did they race! many, many thanks to Warren & Leonie for talking it up so much and insisting we should see it all, they were sooooooooo right!

Now-G's story-time! My new addition to the stable purchased in May is a 2020 BMW S1000RR with "M-package" (Jason Veitch made me buy it) then she just sat out the winter, this Beemer is really just a big powerful computer with wheels, handle bars, seat and gas tank and I am so very thankful for that, this new technology means an Old Harley rider can actually own and manage to ride (of sorts) a real dinkum "Super Bike" which is just a little bit quicker out of the stable than any other machine I have ridden over many years. She, "Wee Beauty" leaves me with a huge smile every time I get off it. A huge learning curve ahead but I am loving every moment so far, I never realized that sport bikes could be way more comfortable than they looked and this is one time that I am only too happy to try and learn new technology (problem of course is trying to remember it all) and no! for those that are wondering I haven't yet ventured into the "Race Pro" Modes yet but have had some fun with "Race" mode (Road) and I have noticed my arms are at least 2 inches longer now!
That little blurb wasn't designed to make riding folk envious, just to show it's never too late to go way outside one's comfort zone and have tremendous fun doing it, as a fully qualified pensioner now I am so enjoying the new challenge! Let’s hope there are heaps more adventure's and fun challenges for us all in the near future.
